Breathing Life
 into Luxe

the way i work

Roaring laughter. Flowing cocktails. A palpable buzz. A dance floor alive with energy. If it captures imaginations, inspires awe, and serves as the start of a lifetime of “you had to be there” stories—it’s my kind of party.

Invite me to anything, and I’m excited to be there. I don’t complain. I don’t sneak out early. And I never show up empty-handed.

My story is simple: there was never any other industry for me. I’ve always been someone who celebrates everything. What began as finding any excuse to throw a themed party as a child eventually evolved into kicking off my events career in New York City working for the best of the best.

I spent a decade sharpening my skills as a wedding planner with some of the most recognized names in the industry, producing high-end events with celebrities and dignitaries in attendance, and assisting catering and stationery-design companies along the way—all of which gave me incredible insight into every aspect of luxury event planning before founding Carly Black Events.

Above all, I aim to reimagine the planning process and bring fresh, renewed energy to the industry. I find endless joy in helping my couples shake off expectations, traditions and pressure—and, instead, tap into the originality and power of their choices. If we can create an environment you never want to escape—one that replaces all things boring, bland and banquet-like with rich experiences that speak to and celebrate who you really are—we’ve done a damn good job together.

hi love bugs, I'm Carly

A destination wedding planner for couples who crave originality

I can’t be in any place for too long without starting to imagine it as an event space. I once found myself day-dreaming about transforming Alcatraz into a wedding venue.

My last name is Fekete (rhymes with spaghetti!) It’s a Hungarian name that throws most people for a loop and translates to “Black”—hence Carly Black Events.

My parents’ 40-year (and counting) love story continues to amaze and inspire me every day.

I’ve never met a venue I couldn't transform. I've worked everywhere from The Plaza Hotel to a private horse barn with no cell service.

Say what?

My husband and I work remotely and embrace a nomadic lifestyle. In one single month, you’ll find us anywhere from Utah to New Jersey.

I’m a total “yes” woman who makes things happen. I’ve loaded equipment up 12 flights of stairs when a venue’s freight elevator broke and bought 100 burgers myself when a caterer failed to deliver the after-hours treats we ordered.

You make a mean cocktail, curate the best playlists, collect the greatest friends and never let the status quo define you.

You’re seeking a seasoned wedding planner who can provide trusted expertise and assurance—yet who brings a fresh perspective and unexpected ideas to the drafting table. You want an artist who pulls inspiration from boutique hotels instead of plucking premade designs from Pinterest, an advocate who communicates clearly and stands in your corner fiercely, a partner who isn’t just here to plan for you—but to see and celebrate you fully.

I believe everyone deserves to be celebrated. Here, couples of all gender identities, sexual orientations, cultural backgrounds and religious beliefs can expect an enjoyable, inclusive planning process. I’m also highly conscious of the waste weddings can create and am committed to minimizing, repurposing, recycling, and donating everywhere I can.
